Burner rings denoted as "Pipe" are a higher grade metal, specifically 304 marine grade stainless steel.  This is ideal for wet climates, like beach front properties. 

To calculate what size burner ring you need consider that you need a minimum margin of 4" inches inside your fire area.  So For Example, a Fire Area Diameter of 26" inches may use a 18" inch burner ring.  

That Is Because:
  • A 26" inch diameter fire area minus the 18" burner ring leaves 8 inches.  Providing 4" inches of margin all around. Satisfying the 4" inch minimum.
